Rowland Recruitment is seeking a skilled Accounts and Tax Accountant to join our client, a well established accountancy practice located in Mid Kent. Known for its high-quality service and long-standing client relationships across Kent and beyond, this position offers the chance to work with a varied client base, delivering high quality accounting and tax services. You’ll be joining a close knit team within a respected local firm, working directly with the Partner and contributing to the firm’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients, sole traders, Limited Companies, and Partnerships, providing comprehensive accounting and tax support
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders, and Partnerships
- Prepare and review financial statements under FRS 102, with occasional exposure to IFRS
- Oversee the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns, including planning and advisory work
- Review VAT returns and ensure compliance with current regulations
- Oversee bookkeeping reviews, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Assist with business advisory services, including cash flow forecasting and budgeting
- Support clients with management accounts and financial queries, particularly those with outsourced finance functions
- Mentor and guide junior staff, including AAT and ACA trainees, contributing to their professional development
Ideal Candidate:
- ACA or ACCA qualified or QBE, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in practice
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation and corporate tax compliance
- Able to manage deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
- Confident using accounting software including Sage, Xero, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach
