Rowland Recruitment is seeking a motivated part qualified accountant, or someone qualified by experience to join a large accountancy practice in their Maidstone office. They have a very high staff retention rate, and they can offer progression if desired. The department has grown recently, your role will offer support to the management team, so it is key that you have good interpersonal skills and are comfortable communicating at all levels and working within a team.
You will be exposed to a varied portfolio of clients and support them with statutory accounts, CIS returns, VAT returns, and basic tax issues. With the firm experiencing rapid growth, this is an exciting time to join, offering significant potential for career development.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Statements, prepare statutory financial statements under FRS105 and FRS102 using Iris software.

Tax Computations, draft corporation tax computations in Iris.

Management Accounts, create periodic management accounts using Xero, Sage, or similar software.

Bookkeeping & VAT Returns, conduct or assist with these tasks for clients.

Client Interaction, build client rapport, understanding their specific needs, and ensure clear, professional communication.

Additional Services, identify areas for other services that may benefit clients.
The Ideal Candidate:

AAT, ACA, or studier, or qualified by experience, with a background in accountancy practice

Accounts production experience is key

Experience using cloud-based accounting software like Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, Excel, Word

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines

Competent in preparing financial statements and corporation tax returns

Ability to develop strong client and internal relationships and offer value-added services

Good attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
