Rowland Recruitment is pleased to be supporting an established and reputable accountancy practice in Mid Kent with the appointment of an experienced Audit Senior to join their team.
This role would suit a confident, qualified accountant with strong audit experience who enjoys working closely with clients, delivering high-quality work, and guiding junior team members. You’ll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where your contribution is recognised and valued.
As Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion. You’ll ensure all work is delivered to a high standard and in line with relevant compliance requirements, while also being a key contact for clients and a role model to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the full audit process across a portfolio of clients, from initial planning through to file completion and review.
- Organising audit files and documentation in a clear and compliant structure.
- Reviewing client data and accounts, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations.
- Staying up to date with audit regulations, internal processes and risk procedures, and ensuring these are followed consistently.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients—understanding their needs and providing solutions and advice.
- Responding to client queries promptly and professionally, building lasting relationships.
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff, reviewing their work, and helping them develop their knowledge and skills.
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver accurate, timely and efficient audits.
- Preparing and reviewing client deliverables, including statutory accounts, VAT returns, PAYE, and corporation tax filings.
- Managing workflow effectively to meet agreed deadlines and ensure smooth progression of work to partner sign-off.
Ideal Candidate:
- ACA or ACCA qualified with a background in practice and solid experience in audit.
- Comfortable overseeing audits and supporting others with technical guidance.
- Experienced in reviewing work and mentoring junior team members.
- Highly organised, with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- A natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with audit/accounting software.
