Rowland Recruitment is supporting a reputable organisation who are looking for a professional and driven candidate to join them as a Manager in their Financial Reporting team. The Financial Reporting Manager will support the Team Leader in overseeing the day to day operations of the team. The role will involve high quality delivery of financial reporting services, effective team management, and the development of junior colleagues. The candidate will play a key part in maintaining a high quality financial reporting service line, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative, high performance culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Reporting & Advisory:
- Lead the preparation of complex statutory accounts, financial reports, and disclosures under IFRS, UK GAAP, and Charity SORP.
- Take ownership of group consolidations for large international structures, including accounting for acquisitions, disposals, and group reconstructions.
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients, identifying specific areas of accounting judgement.
- Partner with internal audit and business advisory teams to resolve complex financial statement queries.
- Maintain an up to date understanding of regulatory developments to provide ad hoc financial advice to clients.
- Ensure all assignments are completed profitably, accurately, and to tight deadlines.
Team Leadership & People Development:
- Work alongside the Team Leader to manage team workflows, schedule tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
- Conduct detailed reviews of financial statements, working papers, and reconciliations completed by junior staff.
- Deliver constructive feedback and technical guidance to team members to drive continuous improvement.
- Assist with recruitment initiatives, including reviewing CVs, interviewing, and hiring decisions.
- Support performance reviews and design structured development plans to bridge skills gaps.
- Lead onboarding and training activities for new starters, while mentoring colleagues studying for professional qualifications.
Process & Quality Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting workflows and increase efficiency.
- Contribute to departmental initiatives aimed at upgrading quality, consistency, and operational resilience.
Ideal Candidate:
Essential Requirements:
- CCAB body membership (such as ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, or AICPA).
- Proven experience preparing full statutory accounts and international group consolidations in practice or professional services.
- Strong technical knowledge across IFRS, UK GAAP, and Charity SORP.
- Confident reviewing financial statements and working papers with high attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple shifting priorities.
Desirable Requirements:
- Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or leading junior staff members.
- Background or exposure to audit files and processes.
- Familiarity with Caseware or similar accounts preparation software.
