Rowland Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Graduate Trainee Accountant to join a well established and highly reputable accountancy firm based in West Kent.
We are seeking a recent graduate, or someone due to graduate this year, who is ambitious, motivated, and looking to build a long term career in accountancy. This position offers an excellent opportunity to train within a respected firm, gaining experience across both accountancy and tax while working towards professional qualifications.
If you hold a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant subject, or are predicted a 2:1 and above, and are eager to begin your career in the profession, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands on experience in accounts preparation, financial accounting, tax return preparation, audit and general accounting duties
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns, gaining broad exposure across accounts and tax.
- Assist with audit fieldwork, including testing, documentation, and audit file preparation.
- Complete bookkeeping tasks, reconciliations, and general accounting duties to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis, supporting senior team members with month end and year end tasks.
- Request information, resolve queries, and build strong professional relationships.
- Develop proficiency in key accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and assist with system improvements or updates.
- Take responsibility for professional development and exam preparation toward recognised qualifications ACA
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a 2:1 degree and at least 3 Bs at A-Level and strong GCSE grades in related subjects
- Enthusiastic to learn and develop a strong understanding of UK accounting and tax principles
- Possesses excellent communication skills and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team
- Has a full driving license and access to a car
