Rowland Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established, successful Kent based business in the search for an experienced Part-Time Company Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional seeking a flexible, part-time role within an established SME environment. Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, provide valuable financial insight, and play a key role in supporting business performance and decision making.
The business is open to considering hybrid or remote working arrangements for the right individual, depending on business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day to day finance function, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger activities
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Producing monthly management accounts and supporting year-end accounting processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
- Monitoring cash flow and reviewing customer credit arrangements
- Producing profitability reports and financial performance analysis
- Processing payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Working closely with Directors to provide financial and commercial support
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues where required
Ideal Candidate:
- Ability to demonstrate previous accounting experience within a commercial environment
- Solid knowledge of management accounts, VAT and year end processes
- Experience working within a small or medium sized business
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to support business decision-making
- Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
- Experience in cash flow management and financial reporting
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and hands on approach to finance
