Key Responsibilities:
- Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate completion of self-assessment tax returns.
- Tax Planning and Advisory: Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all client tax affairs comply with HMRC regulations, managing deadlines effectively and mitigating potential risks.
- Liaison with HMRC: Act as the primary point of contact with HMRC on behalf of clients, handling inquiries, investigations, and negotiations proficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across various departments to deliver comprehensive client solutions, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of work.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified, with a strong background in personal tax within an accountancy practice.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse personal tax portfolio, with proficiency in tax planning and compliance.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of current tax legislation and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge practically.
