Rowland Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded accountancy firm in Mid Kent to recruit a Private Client Tax Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional to step into a senior-level position within a forward-thinking and supportive team.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of private clients, focusing on a blend of personal tax compliance and advisory work. This role would suit a confident and proactive individual who enjoys building client relationships, managing a team, and delivering a first-class service.
The Role:
As Tax Manager, you’ll be a key point of contact for your clients, ensuring their tax affairs are handled with care, accuracy, and efficiency. You'll take ownership of planning and workflow, supporting more junior staff, and contributing to the firm’s ongoing growth and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing your own portfolio of private clients, providing both compliance and advisory support.
- Delivering high-quality personal tax services across a broad range of matters.
- Overseeing client deadlines and HMRC requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Building strong, lasting relationships with clients and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and areas for added value.
- Collaborating with internal teams to support joined-up service delivery.
- Reviewing and supervising the work of junior staff, providing coaching and feedback.
- Monitoring team workflow and contributing to resource planning and team development.
About You:
- CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in personal or mixed tax within an accountancy practice is essential.
- Confident in managing a portfolio of clients and delivering advice across a range of personal tax areas.
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to research and interpret complex tax legislation.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines, prioritise effectively and work independently.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior staff is desirable.
