Rowland Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a long established and highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in West Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tax Senior to join a well-supported and collaborative Private Client Tax team, with exposure to complex advisory work and a diverse range of clients.
This role offers a varied mix of tax advisory, planning and compliance, working across multiple tax areas including IHT, CGT, income tax, trusts and estates. You will work closely with partners, support client facing planning projects, and contribute to high level tax research and problem solving.
The position is suited to someone who enjoys technical variety, values autonomy, and is confident identifying tax issues and exploring solutions. Training and development will be provided where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review personal tax, IHT and CGT returns for a varied client base
- Work with tax partners on advisory and planning projects for individuals and trusts
- Conduct technical research and communicate tax rules and implications clearly to clients
- Support, mentor and review the work of junior members of the tax team
- Liaise directly with clients and HMRC to resolve queries and ensure a high standard of service
- Assist with trust taxation, HNW private client matters and specialist areas
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and contribute to team development
Ideal Candidate:
- ATT qualified or CTA qualified (or currently studying toward CTA)
- Strong background in personal tax within an accountancy practice
- Confident researching tax issues and drafting clear written explanations
- Motivated, proactive and adaptable, with the ability to work independently
- Experience with trust taxation, HNW clients or Lloyd’s Underwriters is desirable but not essential
- Experience of payroll taxes or Stamp Duty Land Tax beneficial
- Comfortable using cloud-based systems such as Xero or TaxCalc
What’s on Offer:
